Amanora has been trying to bridge the socio-economic divide. While developing the township with its excellent infrastructure offering a better standard of living, its surroundings especially, Sadesatara Nali village, have also stood to gain by it. The following initiatives have been taken by Amanora for its betterment:

Employers, not employees : The farmers who gave their land needed an alternative means of livelihood.
The Company, instead of doing charity or offering them just jobs, decided to help them help themselves by training them to become entrepreneurs. The idea was that they should not work at some place as employers but become employers themselves.

Training and business opportunities : The systematic entrepreneurship training and education through counselling by Amanora made it possible to transform the village from an agrarian to a business community. More than 100 farmers have their own companies and have done business worth more than Rs 20 crore in contracting and supplies to Amanora. There are some outstanding examples to substantiate this. The best farmer in the village has become an award-winning garden/landscape contractor to the township. A small-time entrepreneur has taken up manufacturing of new types of high-tech bricks. And, an unemployed farmer has become the most successful labour-supply contractor.

Empowerment of women : About 50 women were trained by Amanora in a reputed catering institute. Amanora has formed a catering company with women from the farming community as its shareholders. This company runs the entire canteen operations of the township. These women are shareholders as well as employees of the catering company.

Drinking water project: Sade-Satara-Nali village has no clean drinking water supply. Amanora took the lead in appointing Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) to prepare the project report and implement the drinking water supply project under the Government of India’s Bharat Nirman Karyakram. The scheme will be implemented in co-operation with the Gram Panchayat. Amanora has substantially contributed its financial and managerial resources.

Amanora Garden :  The village did not have its lungs. Amanora developed a garden for the villagers, which was inaugurated by the then chief minister Shri Vilasraoji Deshmukh on 3rd October 2008. The garden is being maintained by ‘Amanora’ till the Gram Panchayat is able to maintain it.

This is how Amanora has developed a socially responsible township and changed the socio-economic scene of Sade-Satara-Nali village.
