City Football's first ever corporate Sponsorship announced, Amanora Park Town to Sponsor Deccan XI FC.

Pune, August 07, 2010 - In a positive development for city Football Pune's leading Football Club Deccan XI Football Club has signed a sponsorship agreement with city based Amanora Park Town and will now have a new identity. The club will now be registered as the AMANORA DECCAN XI FOOTBALL CLUB.

Speaking to reporters on the eve of the launch of the new identity the Managing Director of City Corporation Limited and Amanora Park Town, India's first Real Township spread over 400 acres in Pune, Mr. Aniruddha Deshpande and the President of the Deccan XI Football Club
Mr. Vishwajeet Kadam said that this sponsorship will give a total new dimension to the Sport of Football in the city.

Mr. Kadam who is also the Vice president of WIFA added that "The city which has witnessed rapid football development in the last couple of years, along with having its own Football Team Pune FC which finished third in the I-league. This is major boost for football in the city.

"Our Company has always been in the forefront promoting sporting activities, having being Part of the MPL in cricket and sponsoring the Amanora Badminton Championships", this sponsorship will broaden our horizon, he added.

Our partnership with Deccan XI will also help us to start football activities at Amanora Park Town which is the first township being set-up at Hadapsar
by City Corporation Limited under the Government of Maharashtra's Special Township Policy.

Amanora Park Town is being developed as a modern suburb of Pune with unique features like the state-of-the-art physical, social, healthcare, sports and educational infrastructure.

Under the agreement the club will be Registered with PDFA as the Amanora Deccan XI Football Club and all the A, B, C & girls teams would be represented under the name Amanora Deccan XI.

Mr. Kadam added that the sponsorship with Amanora will accelerate the aim of the club to play the 2nd Division of the AIFF I-League in the coming
5 years.

Deccan XI which celebrated 25 years of formation this year , became the first football club other then Pune F.C. (City's only professional club) to turn professional, by issuing contracts to the players playing in their 'A' team. Founded in 1985, as a means of recreation, Deccan XI over the years has had over 1500 players representing the club at various events.

Deccan XI Football Club is the only club in Pune having three teams playing in the PDFA leagues. The A Team plays in the Super Division where it finished runners up in the recently concluded Peninsula Land PDFA Super Division Leagues 2009-10. While The B Team recently got promoted to the first division of the PDFA leagues, while its C Team plays in the Second Division of the PDFA.

In the past 10 years the club has won more than 40 tournaments and the PDFA league 7 times. It is the only team from Pune to win the All India Abhijeet Kadam Memorial Football Tournament in the inaugural year; the team has also won the prestigious Kedari Redekar All India Tournament in Gadhinglaj in the 2005.

Currently there are about 225 registered players with the club with about 40 players in the age group of 3-8 years making the Amanora Deccan XI F.C. the only club in Pune having a proper and successful youth system.
